In Sami mythology, people talk about the importance of different animals and what they symbolize. Crows symbolize authority. They rule over others, spare no means, and plunder everything that gets in their way.

Britta Marakatt-Labba was born in 1951 in Idivuoma, Karesuando. Her images are miniature worlds shaped with needle and thread. They contain scenes from everyday life, political reflections and stories about Sami culture and history. The magnificent nature and the white snow of the sparkling winter landscape are constantly present. Britta was in 1978 with the start and engaged in building up the Sami Artist Group (Masi group).
