Andrea Damp was born in 1977 on the island of Rügen, today Germany, then part of the GDR. She  is educated at i.a. Berlin University of Arts. Andrea Damp subtly balances abstraction and figuration in his paintings. Her works are created in a sophisticated method of layers and overlays, which makes the sensual process of the painting's creation palpable. Using figurative elements, the painter transforms his compositions into narrative, associative pictorial worlds characterized by atmosphere and emotional expression. Her paintings form an incomparable link between the autonomy of color and its ability to serve the image.
