In the 1950s, De Geer first encountered X:et’s artistry when he saw \u003cem\u003eCarmen\u003c\/em\u003e, with scenography by X:et. He describes this encounter as ‘\u003cem\u003ea source of stylizations in my mind\u003c\/em\u003e’. A few years later, he saw the opera \u003cem\u003eAniara\u003c\/em\u003e by Karl-Birger Blomdahl, with text by Harry Martinson. X:et’s scenography and costumes again made a strong impression on him.
