In December 2022, Amanda Karlsson received the Culture and Leisure Committee’s annual Bror Marklund Scholarship. It is awarded to an artist who, like Bror Marklund, works with sculpture. Here we get to know her artistry more closely.
The exhibition “Man bara gräver” consists of oil paintings on shaped wood that depict events around digging in earth, in the body, and in one’s own story. Together, the works form a spatial installation and a state where the work of digging is highly essential, perhaps even the most important of all.
