Galleri Helle Knudsen is pleased to announce that the West Collection has acquired two works by Tomas Colbengtson: Cracks and Naehpie.
In these works, Colbengtson explores Sámi identity, memory, and landscape. Cracks addresses the relationship between nature, industry, and climate change, while Naehpie gives new life to a traditional Sámi object in glass – a material imbued with associations of fragility and memory.
West Collection, based in Oaks, Pennsylvania, is an internationally recognized contemporary art collection founded in 1996 by Al and Paige West, with a focus on supporting contemporary artists and making art accessible through extensive public and institutional engagement.
