Group exhibition

13.5 - 24.5. 2025

During Stockholm Art Week, we are pleased to present a curated group exhibition in our showroom, featuring artists who have previously exhibited with the gallery at Market Art Fair in Stockholm. The exhibition includes works by Britta Marakatt-Labba, Tomas Colbengtson, Amanda Karlsson, and Lukas Cornix.

Britta Marakatt-Labba

Britta Marakatt-Labba, In the Valley of Shadows, embroidery and appliqué on linen, white frame with art glass, 21,5 x 28,5 cm

Britta Marakatt-Labba was born in 1951 and grew up in a reindeer herding family in the Saarivuoma Sámi village. She began her artistic career in 1979 after completing her studies at the school of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. Early on, she and other newly educated Sámi artists worked to build and establish a Sámi artists' organisation.

Tomas Colbengtson

Tomas Colbengtson, The language flows from the landscape, mixed media on polycarbonate, white L-frame, 44 x 61,5 cm

Tomas Colbengtson was born in 1957 and grew up in Björkvatnet, Tärnaby. His artistry is based on memories and experiences from history and the current situation for the Sami; the school, which affected the very smallest, had far-reaching consequences for the Sami language. The Southern Sami almost died out in the Tärna area. Sami religion was banned. The state conducted racial biological research, forced relocation and other methods to gain control over the indigenous people on the North Calotte. His work is also about the pride of the Sami heritage and the knowledge that comes with it.

Amanda Karlsson

Amanda Karlsson, Dangerous City: Wind Over the Mountains, oil on wood, 58,5x20x7 cm/45x67x6 cm

Amanda Karlsson (b.1989, Karlstad, Sweden) weaves narratives alongside our own, prompting reflection on the human quest for comprehension and the interplay between truth and fiction. Karlsson’s works echo the isolating nature of personal introspection within the broader tapestry of shared experiences.

Lukas Cornix

Lukas Cornix, Seeing red, mixed media on paper, walnut box frame with art glass, 68 x 50 cm

Lukas Cornix’s (b. 1993, Växjö) painting practice predominantly takes place on paper, which benefits his approach and process. Cornix works swiftly and intuitively - crucial for exploring mixed techniques and the type of painting he seeks to achieve. He aims to approach a painting style that combines intricate and unpretentious gestures.
