Collection: Nina Kerola

Nina Kerola was born in Turku and grew up in Pori Finland, and has studied at the Pori School of Fine Arts in Finland, at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and at the University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Today she lives and works in Huddinge.

Nina Kerola's pictures are about memories from her childhood in the 70's in Finland. She filters growing up through the memory of places and dream situations in nature and excursions with the family. In the pictures, she meets herself in memories of fishing trips and camping trips, where tension arises between the photo publishers' play with landscape and the relationship drama. There is something playful and humorous about it all, reflections from her origins - the longing for another world. Is it fantasy or reality?
