Amanda Karlsson ready for major artistic assignment in Värmland

Kristinehamn Municipality is building a new curling hall – and the artist Amanda Karlsson will create an artwork for it. The artwork is created within the framework of the "one percent rule" for artistic decoration in new constructions. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026.

Amanda Karlsson has exhibited at Kristinehamn Art Museum in connection with being awarded the museum's art scholarship 2023. She has roots in Karlstad but now lives in Gothenburg.

That it is Amanda Karlsson feels not only reassuring in her artistry, but also really fun since it is a former scholarship recipient and Värmland native who gets to contribute to Kristinehamn's vibrant cultural life, says culture manager Maria Lobell.
