Erik Kihlbaum was born in 1976 in Örebro and educated at the Umeå Academy of the Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. He works with drawing, video and sculpture. Right now he mainly uses drawing as a method, but fundamental in his work are ideas linked to objects and cinematic narratives. Erik builds objects in the drawing through still images, which he sees as stills from a film. In his artistic activity, he integrates theories and questions about time, objects, history and popular culture.
