Karin Almlöf

Karin Almlöf was born in Gothenburg in 1959. She is educated at Nyckelviksskolan and Konstfack. She currently lives and works in Rimforsa.

Karin captures the gray mist, moisture, lake shimmer, and the boundary walls of vegetation in her paintings. Thin paint, silver tones waiting to be adressed. 'It comes in the form of impatient, searching lines etched into the fabric´s body. Loike holding onto the wind. Her paintings become traces of events. What remains are a few glimpses pinned down by sharp lines. A sudden movement in the grass, over the water´s surface, or like an interference frequency in an inner room. - Thomas Millroth
