Peter Andersson

Peter Andersson (b. 1988) is based in Umeå and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in fine art at Umeå Academy of the Arts. By observing and recreating situations in which people wait together, Andersson explores the interactions and social codes that emerge through subtle gestures, exchanged glances, and changes in posture. His artistic practice is also deeply rooted in an interest in bronze casting, a process he encountered early in his bachelor’s studies. Fascinated by the complexity of the process, he works with the detailed sequence of techniques required to transform a sculpture from an initial form into a finished bronze object.
