Jet-te L. Ranning (b. 1954, lives and works in Odense, Denmark). Ranning’s painting moves in the borderland between the figurative and the abstract. Her works are built up in several layers of oil, acrylic and marble dust, creating a light, almost veil-like transparency. Through cracks in the surface, layers of colour appear and form an interplay between texture and subject. It is a form of painting that both draws the eye and invites interpretation.
