Ludvig Hyrefelt was born in 1995 and lives and works in Stockholm. He is drawn to systems – mathematical, material, relational, and irrational. He works with geometrically reduced modules that together form complex structures and take you on a journey through time, space, and imagination. It becomes an exploration of the power of modularity and repetition, as well as an acrobatic navigation between craft, art, and design.His work process is permeated by natural science – through glaze chemistry, 3D technology as well as mathematics and geometry. He makes molds to achieve the precision his visions require and chooses his materials carefully. He is driven by a pursuit of knowledge and understanding but is also drawn to letting the materials take over.
