Minnet är ett landskap (Memory is a landscape) is Svante Rydberg's third solo exhibition at Galleri Helle Knudsen. Rydberg's artistry is deeply rooted in Bergslagen, an area characterized by its long history of forestry and mining. This landscape is not only a source of visual inspiration but also the basis of his artistic work. In this landscape, he has found an "alphabet" that reflects the history of the landscape and the traces of human activity. This alphabet returns throughout his work to interpret the environment on an existential level. Instead of strictly depicting nature, Rydberg strives to reach a deeper similarity with the landscape's particularity. It is more about the character of the landscape than about the pure nature experience, but the lyricism of nature is of course of great importance.

Svante Rydberg is a Swedish artist born in 1948 in Ludvika, where he still lives and works. His artistic career began with studies at Pernbys Målarskola in Stockholm and the Art Academy in Rome between 1969 and 1972. During his career, he has exhibited his works in a wide range of galleries, such as Svenska Bilder and Galleri Astley, as well as in several art galleries and museums around about in Sweden, including Piteå Art Gallery, Eskilstuna Art Hall and Dalarnas Museum. Rydberg has also been a recurring participant in group exhibitions such as Liljevalch's Spring Salons, Dalasalongen and Norrlandsalongen. He has been shown at the Stockholm Art Fair and has also participated in international exhibitions in Hamburg, Paris, Athens and Tunis.
