Linda Lasson (b. 1975) lives and works in Kramfors. She has had a large number of exhibitions at art galleries and museums in Sweden, but also internationally. Her work has been shown at galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Rome and Barcelona as well as at the Swedish embassy in Washington and at several international art fairs.
In his textile art, Lasson wants to give nature a voice and portray a plundering contemporary that brings with it a merciless blackness. She has lived in the mountains of Jämtland, close to Sami culture, and that has influenced her both as a person and as an artist. Lasson uses his own technique – with free stitches in different directions, with different density and length, sometimes layer upon layer for a three-dimensional effect. The impression becomes airy and organic, while the works have a strong graphic character. Black sewing thread on reinforcing fabric is the basis, but she also experiments with other materials and techniques.
